Montana has emerged as a significant hub for quantum technology in the United States. To define how the future of the industry is shaped, Quantum Coast Capital and Meaningful Ventures 2.0 hosted a private high-level summit with industry, government, and academia leaders in attendance. Leading professionals from Atom Computing, Quantinuum, D-Wave, and IonQ aligned strategies to strengthen U.S. leadership in quantum innovation through panels and discussions on quantum computing, AI integration, and sensing technologies essential to defense, navigation, and medical applications.
“This summit was about more than technology—it was about aligning the people and the strategies that will determine who leads the next era.”Jason Yager, Executive Director of Montana Photonics & Quantum Alliance
Through the engaging panels and conversations throughout the day, it became apparent that education is the fuel that will power the future of quantum innovation and that collaboration on a global scale is necessary to keep that momentum moving forward. The diverse mix of attendees from private capital, national policy, and research helped align efforts across science, industry, and government. Matt Cimaglia, Founder & Managing Partner of Quantum Coast Capital, put it best: “The quantum future will not be built in silos. It will require coordinated effort across science, industry, and government.”
As the retreat concluded, attendees departed with new perspectives and stronger partnerships shaped by a setting that encouraged ethical thinking, innovation, and forward-looking ideas. Held during the International Year of Quantum Science and Technology (IYQ2025), the gathering reinforced that leadership in quantum will depend not only on advanced technologies but also on the collaboration of people, policies, and shared vision. The takeaway was clear: the connections built here should help propel the discoveries and progress of the years ahead.
